The world around us is changing. Over the last week, many of us were blindsided with the results of the U.S. election. A Trump presidency has huge implications for the U.S. and the world. And as the world faces these ramifications, the MAP community will feel the fallout. Many in the MAP community have been traumatized by the news and the ensuing uncertainty. But we cannot give up.
Now is the time for us to mobilize and organize. We encourage building unity with each other. Our community needs to stick together, work together, and help each other emotionally through these times. Be there for your fellow community members, who need you now more than ever. Our community will outlast these four years. This is only temporary.
It is important not to let the people who want to tear us down get into our heads and poison our thoughts with hopelessness and negativity. Never let the opinions of others taint your willpower. This is the key to our own strength as individuals. It is important not to let them divide us or leave us alone and isolated.
Do not lose hope. While these recent times present serious challenges for many MAPs, MEDAL is here to support and advocate for those who are struggling. The MAP community will stand strong and proud against adversity and hate. MEDAL will never stop fighting for the human rights and dignity of MAPs.
Go Forward In Power,
The MEDAL Team
